Awkwafina

Awkwafina the American performer and actress, started with humorous raps that addressed sexuality and racial identification. Prior to her move into Hollywood, she released a series of rap tracks. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants, was her initial musical experience. She played the trumpet. Later, she began traditional and hip-hop training. While in college, she took classes in the field of women's studies and journalism. In addition, she spent some time learning Mandarin in Beijing. It wasn't until after graduating when she decided to turn her attention on music. The track she released in 2012 My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success across the Internet which led to her debut album Yellow Ranger in 2014. Some other hits that went viral included queef track and the equally winking NYC Bitchecity tour. The latter track connected directly to another project, Awkwafina's NYC A travel guide that was released in 2015. The singer decided to pursue acting careers following her completion of two initiatives, as a writer and musician. Alongside early series such as Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in film projects like Neighbors in Storks. In 2018, she scored breakthrough performances in a variety of high-profile films like Dude Ocean's 8, and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP came out in June.
